William (Bill) Rider is the President and Chief Executive Officer of The Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester. MHCGM is New Hampshire’s largest community mental health center employing 400 staff and serving 11,000 annually. MHCGM has been recognized as a leader in Community Mental Health having received numerous awards including: The Mental Health Case Management Organization of the Year award from the National Alliance on Mental Illness, The American Psychiatric Association’s Gold Achievement Award, The Organizational Achievement Award from the Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors, The Granite State Quality Commitment Award, The Excellence in Mental Health Award from the NH Department of Health and Human Services, The Science and Service Award from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration and most recently, the 2017 New Hampshire Business Review’s: Excellence in Non Profits- Large Business.
Mr. Rider hails from Buffalo New York where he graduated from Canisius College School of Psychology. Moving to NH in 1976 he worked as a Clinical Case Manager in both rural Carroll County and in New Hampshire’s most urban setting, Manchester. He has worked for The Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester since 1985. He and his wife Gail, live in Concord NH where they raised 3 children.
